By getting another 72-hour ambulatory EEG. Ha! At least this one is at my house.
Heck, even the guy who did the hookup came to my house, which was pretty sweet.
So he came yesterday afternoon at 1:00, and will be back Monday at 1:00.
I mean, in general, this is fine. There's only two annoying things about it.
One: I can't shower for three days. Gross.
Two: The itchiness rom the glue reaches an unbearable level within the first 48 hours.
Right now, the only part that really itches is my forehead. There are three leads stuck to my forehead with gel adhesive and tape. Obviously, I can't scratch at them or they can dislodge (one of them came off in my sleep last night) so my only option to attempt to alleviate the itching is by hitting where it itches.
So I sit here in my recliner, smacking my head. Repeatedly.
The video camera (because oh yeah, I have a video camera in my room for the weekend to watch me) is going to give off a very bizarre impression come Monday.
Tonight I hung out with Christian and his girlfriend Tara for a little while. We were meeting at Spiegel. Tara got there way before Christian did because he was running late, so we had a lot of time to just sit there and talk and get to know each other.
Spiegel's two walls facing the street are just glass, which is great for people watching. Tara and I were sitting at a table up against one of the walls.
In the middle of our conversation, I spotted this guy walking towards the glass by the bench outside and bending down, so I thought he was just stopping to tie his shoe out of the way of passersby.
Except then he tapped on the glass.
I looked over, and he was down on one knee, motioning like he was opening up a ring box, pointing at me and blowing kisses.
I immediately looked over at Tara, and we both busted out laughing.
I looked back, and he was still doing the same motions.
I still couldn't stop laughing, but I blew him a kiss just for fun and he smiled big and then got up and walked off.
My first experience on a flight out of LaGuardia was...interesting.
Well, first of all, security took like 15 minutes to get through. I didn't have to take my shoes off, or my laptop out of my bag, or go through one of those body scanner things.
And here's the kicker. I completely forgot that the pepper spray gun that Jim gave me before I left in August (the one that shoots 90 MILES PER HOUR) was still in the bottom of my purse until Mom, Holly, and I were halfway home and it came up in conversation...so somehow I unintentionally got through airport security and the carry-on bag x-ray screen thing with that in my bag, but Holly got her conditioner taken away. I'll definitely be bringing it back to New York in my checked bag, though!
And then the flight came. We didn't board on time because the airline oversold the plane and everyone actually showed up (I hate it when they do that, the airlines, not the people). And then, I was supposed to be in the last row of the plane but then a party asked to be moved together so they moved me up six rows. I was sitting waiting for boarding in a chair right next to the gate desk, across from these parents and their teenager girls. We're just waiting for board when all of a sudden, this guy struts up and he's dressed like Adam Lambert (the singer from American Idol) with a Cruella de Vil fur coat and gloves. The dad across from me and I looked at each other and just laughed.
We finally board, and who is my new seat partner? Cruella de Lambert. (I called him that when relaying the story to Mom and she almost cried from laughing.) And he insisted on sprawling out his fur coat all over the place so I had to dig and dig for my seatbelt.
Normally, when Mom and I are in the car together, we plug in my phone and sing together, but my phone battery was very low by the time she picked me up because I had to block out several things on the flight. First, there was the expected screaming children. Plus, Cruella talked to himself the entire flight. And to top it off, there was this mom sitting right in front of me and her two pre-teen/young teenage daughters across the aisle from her and from the second they sat down, she was leaning across the aisle talking to them and asking them questions and handing them things. Except she didn't talk to them like they were 13 (or around that age, however old they were). She talked to them like they were 4. "Here's a sandwich, sweetie. Do you want Mommy to unwrap that for you? Here, hand it back to Mommy." The ENTIRE flight. Mom's response when I told her about this lady? "You would have BITCH-slapped me if I talked to you like that."
So yeah, that was certainly the most interesting flight I can remember. We'll see if I have any stories to tell on the way back home to NYC.
I've been doing so well taking care of myself while the roommate has been at class/in the library and Holly's been at work, especially considering my right arm has so much nerve damage and my left arm is still strapped to my stomach.
Well, that ended today.
Holly bought Chinese food on Monday night because she was craving egg drop soup for her sore throat. Of course there were plenty of leftovers. So today, I decided to heat up the rest of the chicken and vegetables. I accidentally heated it a little too much - mistake numero uno.
I went to sit down. The plate slipped, and then there was scalding hot Chinese food and soy sauce all over me. It was so hot that I immediately tried to get up, but with the messed up footrest and my sling, getting up isn't a very easy process so I was sort of scooting out but also freaking out because it was SO HOT.
You know what happened next, as if this wasn't unfortunate enough? Well, you see, the right arm/side of my recliner has been messed up ever since the chair got warped in the storage unit summer of 2013 when the unit flooded. So it's been loose, but the chair still worked fine. Well, with me, a big girl, freaking out trying desperately to stand up and get out of the chair, it broke. And when the arm fell out, it really broke. Like completely fell over. And when the arm fell over, since the arm is connected to the whole wooden side of the chair, the whole chair collapsed. So I almost fell on the floor in my messy disaster.
Luckily, the arm didn't totally separate from the chair, so when I got up, I was able to stand the chair back up, but needless to say I won't be sitting in it for a while. Our super is incredibly handy, so we're going to ask him after Thanksgiving, like Friday, if he can maybe drill in some screws to hold it in place or something. I don't know, we'll see. If not, I may just resort to duct tape until I can afford a new recliner because a) I love that recliner and b) sleeping in my bed with this sling really hurts because I can't turn over and c) this couch is not very comfortable.
But hey, at least I only got two small burns out of the whole ordeal, one on my stomach and one on my thigh. It could have been a lot worse.
Heads? They can bleed a LOT. Even when the cut is very shallow and small. Ask me how I know.
Oh who am I kidding. You know I'm going to tell you. Consider this the latest chapter in the saga of "Stupid things Mal does to injure herself."
I went to the bathroom before class this morning. The stalls in this bathroom are pretty small, but I've gotten used to them. My phone fell out of my pocket when I pulled my pants up, so I bent over to pick it up. And when I came back up, I guess I totally misjudged just how small the stall is, because WHACK! I came up and slammed my head straight into the metal lock with some pretty decent momentum. I stood up completely and just rested on the wall of the stall for a second, because at first, I thought I had just knocked it so hard that it made me a little dizzy. And then I felt something running down my cheek. I reached my hand up to wipe it, hoping it was sweat, because I was warm, but nope, it was bright red.
I got out of the stall and rushed to rip a paper towel out of the machine. Getting more lightheaded by the second, I stumbled out into the hall which is thankfully next to a common area where a few students were working and said, "I'm bleeding. Can you help me?" I sort of collapsed against the wall, and they rushed over. I never lost consciousness, thank the Lord, but I sure felt like I was going to. One guy got me a crap load of more paper towels, one girl got the stuff from my room, and this guy named Mike squatted right in front of me to keep me focused and help me slow my breathing down, because I was kind of freaked. Especially considering I bled through at least 8-10 paper towels by the time the EMTs got there.
But when they did get there, it had pretty much stopped bleeding. I was told I was "awesome" for knowing to put pressure on it. I thought that was just common sense, to put pressure on something that's bleeding to make it stop, but you know, okay, cool, thanks.
I didn't find out until I got to the hospital that it's actually a rather superficial, small laceration. Go figure. My scalp is bruised around the cut, which is not surprising in the least, but other than those two things, I'm fine. I just have to deal with a splitting headache for a while.
Also another lesson? I may never describe a migraine as "stabbing" ever again, because I never truly understood what stabbing felt like until this.
Oh boy. My life is just one big bucket of entertainment, isn't it?
I was sleeping so soundly that I literally jumped when my alarm went off this morning. It was a pretty hilarious way to start off the morning.
And as for that reading for the quiz that I was going to do while eating breakfast this morning...yeah, that totally didn't work out. But the universe worked in my favor today, because that class ended up being canceled! So the quiz will be on Thursday, and I got the reading done tonight, so I'm all good on that front.
I forgot to mention something absolutely hilarious that happened in Protestant Reformation yesterday...Dr. Jonas performed a Dr. Dre rap. And I caught part of it on video. How could I not?!
I would have caught the entire thing had my phone not glitched at the beginning, but still. This is hilarious. What 54 year old Religion professor would rap Dr. Dre for his students just to make them laugh? Besides Dr J, of course. The best part was that this was totally random right in the middle of a lecture. I don't even remember how we got here except for one guy saying "You said you'd rap!" As thanks for him letting me post it online, I told him I'd do something special for everyone on the last day of class. Let's just say it's going to remain a surprise until then and it's going to involve stepping waaaaaay out of my comfort zone. But it'll get laughs. And of course, I'll video my embarrassment for all to enjoy. That's half the fun! :)
I think it's hilarious that my favorite class of this entire semester is the one class I'm not actually enrolled in. Though I was informed yesterday that I have been "adopted" into the family. I love it. :) This class, for a myriad of reasons, has been such a good reminder about how sweet the heart of this school family is, a needed gift when I deal with plenty of not-so-nice people on a day-to-day basis. It's great how God lines things up for you like that, stuff you don't even realize you needed until you have it.
Plus, I've had some very sweet and encouraging texts from friends today, so it has just all in all been a wonderful day. I'm not gonna lie, though. I am definitely way excited for tomorrow just so I can get back to Dr. Jonas's class. :)
I wanted soup for dinner. I had clam chowder. I put said clam chowder in the microwave. I turned on microwave for the time thata clam chowder bowl said to turn it on for.
And then I didn't take out the bowl when I heard something popping.
Because I'm an idiot.
You know what's really not fun? Trying to clean clam chowder out of your microwave. Also, trying to get the clam smell out of your room.
And you know what the really stupid part about it is? This has happened before.
This is why I joke with people that I'm a "dumb smart girl." Because seriously, that was just stupid.
I need air freshener. I have no air freshener. Maybe if I cook popcorn it'll fade? At least some?
Chelsea was at work. Blake was at daycare. Mom and I slept in (yay for no 5:45 am wake up!) and ran a bunch of errands.
It was just nice. No fighting and lots of laughter.
Funniest part of the day: Mom went by Navy Federal Credit Union to make a payment on her credit card debt. She drove through and sent the money up those nifty little chutes they have in the drive through area. A teller popped up on the video screen, and she said Mom had to come inside because it had been more than 30 days since her last payment and it wasn't written in her account that she was allowed to pay in the drive through or whatever. Mom and the teller kind of bickered back and forth for a couple minutes, and then Mom said, "How about I just drive off and leave it here?" And then she just drove off. We could still hear the teller going, "Ma'am? Ma'am? Ma'am!" as we left. I laughed until I cried all the way to Bed Bath & Beyond. Part of the reason it was so funny is just the act in general (Mom said, "What are they gonna do? Call the cops and tell them I tried to pay my credit card debt?") and part of it was because it is so unlike my Mom to do something like that!
My joints are aching. My hip popped several times in the middle of Target, something it's never done before (at least I don't think it has), and it's been bugging me ever since. I'm hoping it will be better tomorrow.
I am so tired. I think I'm just gonna get ready for bed. It's not like I have anything else to do.
So tonight, I went to another one of my required concerts. My sixth. And you know what that means? I don't have to take my Music Appreciation final exam! :) One less thing for me to worry about in that week.
It was actually really cool. Absurdly long, but still really cool. This group called Djembre Fire (the d is silent) came and played African music. For almost two hours, but that's beside the point. There was a lot of drums and singing in some African language (I have no idea what, Swahili is the only language I've heard of and have no idea if that was it), some bells, and spastic dancing. The people were really fun, though. The audience was engaged and participating in it the whole time.
Y'all know me. Y'all know I'm not exactly shy when it doesn't require talking to people. Well, towards the end of the show, they asked for volunteers to come up on stage. So I went. I was sittting in the front row and I figured I might as well enjoy it.
That was a dumb idea.
I am not coordinated in the least. That's not news. So WHY I decided to get up on stage in front of like 200 people and attempt to do fast African tribal dancing is beyond me. I felt like an idiot afterwards because I couldn't keep up, but hey, no one said anything mean, so...whatever.
Today was good. I am happy. Let's hope this stays around.
Except the "feed the cat" thing, since we don't have a cat. Because I'm allergic to cats. So is my mom. But if you replace "cat" with "dog" then yes, everything.
Just watch it. You'll love it.
Lyrics:
Get up now, get up now, get up out of bed
Wash your face, brush your teeth, comb your sleepy head
Here's your clothes, and your shoes, hear the words I said
Get up now! Get up and make your bed
Are you hot? Are you cold? Are you wearing that?
Where's your books and your lunch and your homework at?
Grab your coat and your gloves and your scarf and hat
Don't forget you got to feed the cat
Eat your breakfast, the experts tell us it's the most important meal of all
Take your vitamins so you will grow up one day to be big and tall
Please remember the orthodontist will be seeing you at three today
Don't forget your piano lesson is this afternoon, so you must play
Don't shovel, chew slowly
But hurry, the bus is here
Be careful, come back here
Did you wash behind your ears?
Play outside, don't play rough, would you just play fair?
Be polite, make a friend, don't forget to share
Work it out, wait your turn, never take a dare
Get along, don't make me come down there
Clean your room, fold your clothes, put your stuff away
Make your bed, do it now, do we have all day?
Were you born in a barn? Would you like some hay?
Can you even hear a word I say?
Answer the phone, get off the phone
Don't sit so close, turn it down, no texting at the table
No more computer time tonight
Your iPod's my iPod if you don't listen up
Where you going and with whom and what time do you think you're coming home?
Saying thank you, please, excuse me makes you welcome everywhere you roam
You'll appreciate my wisdom someday when you're older and you're grown
Can't wait 'til you have a couple little children of your own!
You'll thank me for the counsel
I gave you so willingly
But right now I thank you
NOT to roll your eyes at me
Close your mouth when you chew would appreciate
Take a bite, maybe two of the stuff you hate
Use your fork, do not burp, or I'll set you straight
Eat the food I put upon your plate
Get an A, get the door, don't get smart with me
Get a grip, get in here I'll count to 3
Get a job, get a life, get a PhD
Get a dose of...
I don't care who started it
You're grounded until your 36
Get your story straight
And tell the truth for once for heaven's sake
And if all your friends jumped off a cliff
Would you jump too?
If I've said it once, I've said at least a thousand times before that
You're too old to act this way
It must be your father's DNA
Look at me when I am talking
Stand up straight when you walk
A place for everything
And everything must be in place
Stop crying or I'll give you something real to cry about
Oh!
Brush your teeth, wash your face, get your PJs on
Get in bed, get a hug, say a prayer with Mom
Don't forget, I love you
**KISS**
And tomorrow we will do this all again because a mom's work never ends
You don't need the reason why
Because, because, because, because
I said so, I said so, I said so, I said so
I'm the mom, the mom, the mom, the mom, the mom
Tada!
So. I had my ultrasound today. They told me it was at 8:00, and that meant Mom and I had to leave at 7:00 to get Blake to daycare on time. THAT meant I had to wake up at 5:45. I'm a night owl, and totally not a morning person, so you can just imagine how much fun that was.
We didn't get there till about 8:15 because Mom purposely oversleeps and makes it so we're never on time for anything, and then I looked at the wrong sheet for the address, so it took us a few minutes to find the building on the road.
The imaging center was on hospital grounds, so Mom dropped me off so she could go smoke. I walked in and went up to the receptionist. I told her my name and gave her the order form for the ultrasound, and as I was signing the paperwork, she looked up at me and said, "So you drank your water, right?"
I looked at her confused and said, "What?" "The water. You were supposed to drink 40 ounces of water." "Uh, no one told me that." "Didn't you get the letter in the mail with the instructions with this order?" "Uh no. I got that order at my appointment this past Wednesday." "Well, we can't do the ultrasound unless your bladder is full...You have to come back. Our schedule is booked all week, too." "Well, my doctor needs this ultrasound report before my appointment next Wednesday."
Long story short, they miraculously had a cancellation for 10:00. I went outside to call Mom and it took callnig her seven times to get her to answer, and we went to Walgreens and bought me two giant bottles of water. By this point, it was only about 8:30, so we then proceeded to wander around Home Depot for an hour and looked at paint chips because apparently Mom wants to paint a bunch of rooms in the house (as if she doesn't have enough going on). I drank all the water as we walked. By the time I finished the 40 ounces, I really had to go to the bathroom.....or so I thought.
We went back to the imaging center about 9:35 because we had nothing better to do. I sat there for about ten minutes before they called me back. The tech squirted the gel (which thankfully was actually warm! it's usually cold) on my lower abdomen and immediately said, "Uh, I can't see anything. Your bladder isn't full." So I then had to drink 48 more ounces of water. By the time I finished that, I felt like if I drank any more, I'd throw up. And then it took them like 15 more minutes to call me back again. My bladder was so full it actually hurt. I was sitting there on a couch rocking back and forth like a crazy person. Thankfully, when she did come get me again, laying down on the table eased some of the pain, and it was over before I knew it.
But seriously, y'all. I drank 88 ounces of water in less than 90 minutes. I told Mom, "I don't think I've ever been this hydrated outside of a hospital (because then I'm usually constantly being pumped full of fluids) in my life." It's also very smart that they have a bathroom connected to the ultrasound room because by the time it was over, I don't know if I could've made it all the way to the lobby bathroom.
The cutest thing about this place? They gave me a chocolate mint (YUM. My favorite!) stapled to a piece of paper that said, "It's been a pleasure serving you!" In the car, I joked, "Yeah, well I'm glad someone had pleasure torturing me!"
That is, to name your baby something completely bizarre.
This has come to mind because today, David and Victoria Beckham named their daughter Harper Seven. Harper is pretty, Seven is just weird.
Apparently, this is a longstanding tradition. In chronological order, here are just some of the ones that I could find.
Frank Zappa has four kids named Moon Unit (girl 1967), Dweezil (boy 1969, his birth name was different only because the hospital refused to register "Dweezil", it became his legal name at age 5, it was the nickname Frank had for his wife's oddly-curled pinky toe), Ahmet Emuukha Rodan (boy 1974), and Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen (1979).
David Bowie named his son Zowie. Yes, Zowie Bowie (1971). He later changed his name.
Bob Geldof, the man who started the Live Aid concerts, has a trio of just fascinating daughter names: Fifi Trixibelle (1983), Peaches Honeyblossom (1989), and Little Pixie (1990).
Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran had a daughter named Saffron Sahara (1991).
Bob Geldof's wife later had a daughter with another man named Heavenly Hiraaini Tiger Lily (1996). She went by Tiger.
Jamie Oliver and his wife Jules' kids: Poppy Honey Rosie (2002), Daisy Boo Pamela (2003), Petal Blossom Rainbow (2009), and Buddy Bear Maurice (2010).
Jason Lee's son is Pilot Inspektor (yes, the spelling is correct, 2003).
Shannyn Sossamon named her son Audio Science (2003).
Penn Jillette's daughter is named Moxie Crimefighter (2005).
Victoria's fellow Spice Girl has a daughter named Bluebell Madonna (2006).
Ingo Rademacher has a son named Peanut Kai (2008).
In January some girl from Top Chef named her daughter Zuzu.
A few weeks ago, Alicia Silverstone named her son Bear Blu.
Seriously, what is the point? Do these people not realize that a name is forever and these kids are eventually going to have to get jobs and write their names on things like applications? Imagine getting a job application from someone who says their name is Audio Science - you'd bust out laughing, wouldn't you?
It's now gotten to the point that my friend, who loves baby names as much as I do, make constant jokes when we hear celeb pregnancies about who will come out with the newest crazy name.
Anyway, it's pretty funny, isn't it? I thought I'd post it to maybe make you laugh, too. :) Happy Sunday, all.
and you'll make him the happiest man in the world.
Confused? Yeah, I figured. Okay, here's the story:
A few weeks ago, when my cousin Brianna had her ODP soccer tournament, a boy she goes to school with who is also a ODP player gave her a dozen roses to wish her good luck. (Somebody's got a crush!) That night at the hotel, apparently my cousin Dusty said, "Boy, if somebody gave me a dozen roses, I'd be the happiest man in the world!" Well, my mom came home and decided that since Dusty's birthday was yesterday, he was getting roses. I mean, hey, if we have the power to make a member of our family the happiest man in the world and don't take advantage of it, what kind of family would we be? Due to a disaster Chelsea caused, Mom was running low on cash, so I happily provided the money to buy the roses. I'm pretty sure when he said that, Dusty didn't mean getting roses from his family, but you just can't pass up an opprtunity like that!
He said it was the first real birthday surprise he's gotten in years. I'm here to please. :) (Don't worry, we gave him a real gift, too.)
So yeah. We all (even Shane) went over and had burgers and hotdogs with Mommom, Uncle Kirk, Aunt Donna, Dusty and Bri. Plus, Aunt Donna's brothers PJ and Stephen, their wives, Leslie and Jen, PJ & Leslie's daughters, Caitlynn, Brooklynn, and Lilianna, Stephen and Jen's son Nathan, her parents, Phil and Diane, and Phil's mom (whose real name I don't know) all came, too. Needless to say, it was a crowded house! It was fun, though. I haven't seen all of them since Dusty's graduation party in 2008. Lilianna is almost 23 months and I've never met her. Stephen and Jen just recently got married and Nathan isn't his biological son, so I've never met either of them, either. It was a loud party, but loads of fun with all the kids and getting to catch up with people.
Yawn. It's late. I shaved and have clean sheets, so I'm gonna sleep real good tonight!
Oh, and just because I haven't posted a new picture of him since his birthday, here's a cute picture of Blake I took today. :) And yes, that's a Campbell shirt he has on. Class of 2032!
My mom's principal sent this out in an email. We both, and Mommom and Chelsea, cried from laughing. Enjoy. My thoughts are in bold.
These are real notes written by parents in the Memphis school district. Spellings have been left intact......
1. My son is under a doctor's care and should not take PE today. Please execute him. Execute? Well that's a bit of a harsh punishment for being sick!
2. Please exkuce Lisa for being absent she was sick and I had her shot. Again, if you had her shot, I think there are bigger problems than truancy here.
3. Dear school: please ecsc's john being absent on Jan. 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and also 33. What calendar are you using? And more importantly, in what universe does January have 33 days?
4. Please excuse Gloria from Jim today. She is administrating. What was Jim gonna do her? Was she supposed to tutor him? And what does a student have to administrate?
5. Please excuse Roland from p.e. For a few days. Yesterday he fell out of a tree and misplaced his hip. Where'd it go?
6. John has been absent because he had two teeth taken out of his face. Taken out of his face, huh? As opposed to...his knee?
7.. Carlos was absent yesterday because he was playing football. He was hurt in the growing part. I'm a little behind in anatomy. Where is the growing part located?
8. Megan could not come to school today because she has been bothered by very close veins. Make the darn things move, then!
9. Chris will not be in school cus he has an acre in his side. Chris must be HUGE if he can fit a whole acre in his side! We're talking mammoth huge here, people.
10. Please excuse ray Friday from school. He has very loose vowels. His consonants, on the other hand, are very tightly packed.
11. Please excuse Lesli from being absent yesterday. She Had diahredyreadireathe the shits. Life lesson numero uno: Go with what you know.
12. Please excuse tommy for being absent yesterday.. He had diarrhea, and his boots leak. I'd tell the shoe store I want my money back, if I were you.
13. Irving was absent yesterday because he missed his bust. Yeah...I've got nothin.
14. Please excuse jimmy for being. It was his father's fault. That's not very nice!
15. I kept Billie home because she had to go Christmas shopping because I don't know what size she wear. Uh you could just...I don't know...ask her her size before she leaves for school? Or wait till Saturday. Just a thought.
16. Please excuse Jennifer for missing school yesterday. We forgot to get the Sunday paper off the porch, and when we found it Monday. We thought it was Sunday. That's a lot of pressure to put on a newspaper. It's not its fault you forgot! And there IS this newfound invention called a calendar. You can buy one pretty much anywhere. I kindly suggest you look into one.
17. Sally won't be in school a week from Friday. We have to attend her funeral. Awww, poor Sally. If you're going to her funeral, I think it's safe to assume she won't be there any of the weeks after that, either.
18. My daughter was absent yesterday because she was tired. She spent a weekend with the marines. Must've been quite a weekend!
19. Please excuse Jason for being absent yesterday. He had a cold and could not breed well. I didn't know fertility issues were a good reason to miss school. I'll make a note.
20. Please excuse Mary for being absent yesterday. She was in bed with gramps. Why haven't you called the police yet, then?!
21. Gloria was absent yesterday as she was having a gangover. I hope sweet Gloria is doing some rehabilitation of the gang members and isn't actually a part of one.
22. Please excuse Brenda. She has been sick and under the doctor. And again, call. the. cops.
23. Maryann was absent December 11-16, because she had a fever, sorethroat, headache and upset stomach. Her sister was also sick, fever an sore throat , her brother had a low grade fever and ached all over. I wasn't the best either, sore throat and fever. There must be something going around, her father even got hot last night. Unless you, your other daughter, and your son go to Maryann's school, I really don't think the administration needs to know how you feel. And also, I'd look into some therapy if you're really that unattracted to your husband. But it's not my business.
Now we know why parents are screaming for better education for our kids. Indeed.
And I only wanted to shove Chelsea's head through a wall twice, so I'd call that a successful day. ;)
It wasn't a very exciting day. (Big surprise there, I know.) I got up at 9:30 because Mom needed me to help her finish packing. They left at 10.
I spent the rest of the day either cleaning or watching the Casey Anthony trial online. Yes, I am fascinated by it. You're talking to a girl who's been obsessed with Law & Order SVU since she was 10. I'm so terribly sad that Chris Meloni is leaving!! :(
Chelsea and I promised Mom the house would be clean by the time she gets home Well, Chelsea apparently thought it'd be fun to clean Mom's room, AKA The Black Hole of Doom. So I spent a ridiculous amount of time sorting through mail from the past four years because a) I can't go in that room it's so dusty, and b) Mom likes to keep everything.
Tomorrow is more cleaning and more trying not to smack Chelsea. One day down, a day and a half to go.
P.S. Put this down in the record books under Most Graceful Moments: Chelsea was outside when Blake started screaming, so I went to get him. I picked him up, stepped back from the crib and stepped down hard on a tiny, hard plastic horse. I nearly fell over but didn't, thank God, and the dang thing actually cut me! Bravo to me. :)
