Things never change.

Chelsea has been gone with Blake since last Sunday.
Mom texted her tonight and said that if she didn't come home, Mom was getting a lawyer and filing for custody.
Today, Chelsea wasn't even at the friend's house she left with last weekend.
She left Blake with that friend and went out with bad people.
She will never change.
And she just arrived home, so things are about to go all to hell.
Pray for sanity for my mom and me, and safety for Blake.
We desperately need it.

Sigh.

  1. Years ago, I turned my back from God. I was bitter, angry, depressed, heartbroken, and my life was an absolute mess.

My marriage was a mess as well.

My husband was hurtful, cold, and ruthless.

I would have wanted to know that there was hope, that things could change. I'm sure that there were many people who thought things would never get better, but what I needed most was for them to give me hope, to speak life into the situation, to give mercy and grace, to love me with the love of Christ, to lead by example.

    There IS hope.

People can change, and do change.

    Situations change.

    Circumstances change.

    ... Because God doesn't change.

Praying for your family, Mallory, every day.

Some scriptures that helped me through those years -- and in the many years since... scriptures that are very near and dear to my heart...

Ephesians 4:29 Build her up with His love, Mallory -- be the example of Christ she needs in her life. It wasn't until I loved Terry with the love of Christ that he began to change. The same will be true for Chelsea.

Galatians 5:22 -- in the same way that a serving of fruits is healthy for our bodies, it's also healthy for our spirits. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness. Those have the power to transform not only ourselves, but others too. That's a big part of what changed Terry. In each difficult situation, God provides the opportunity for a serving of fruits -- when Chelsea tests your family, reach for love, patience, kindness, peace in the face of adversity, in spite of everything. It will change your life from the inside out, it will change everything -- don't take my word for it, take His.
